At Southmead, we use a Picture Curriculum in our school.
Each term, every class studies a different painting or sculpture. All of that class' learning and topics are then taken from that painting. This inspires and motivates our pupils, and allows our teachers to teach with greater depth. It also allows for a lot of cross-curricular work, as subjects are frequently inter-woven in our topic lessons so children can understand the links and connections between subjects and ideas.

If you have any questions about our curriculum, please contact Maxine Trace via the office.
