Welcome from Southmead Primary School!
Here at Southmead we are very much aware of the responsibility that we have in ensuring that your children love coming to school. We are a diverse community and value every child as an individual. We are proud of being an inclusive school and we celebrate our cultural and linguistic diversity. We are ‘Proud to Belong’.
Our priority, here at Southmead, is to make sure that your child fulfils their potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual development. We want our children to develop a life-long love of learning and leave our school as confident and successful young people, looking forward to the next stage in their educational career. Underpinning everything that we do are the Southmead 5 Rs - our core values of: responsibility, resilience, reasoning, resourcefulness and reflectiveness.
We believe very strongly that partnership with parents is crucial to a child’s success and encourage parents to take an active part in their child’s school life. I know that by working together, we will continue to build on the strengths of the school to make it even more successful.
We encourage visits to the school, so if you would like to make an appointment to come and see for yourself what makes Southmead so special, please make an appointment with Jan Dixon in the School Office.
I look forward to seeing you in and around our school.
We are delighted to announce that we are now an IQM Flagship School! This is in recognition of the wonderful work our school does for Inclusion and the leadership role we play in developing inclusion best practice across a network of schools. Only around 100 schools in the country hold this award so we are very proud!
